The Wrong Way to Start Losing Weight

By Ricardo d Argence

We live in a world where super thin is promoted as being the ideal. The only thing is more than 80% of the world does not fit into that ideal body type. That leaves many people feeling like they are less than perfect, and some take extreme measures to rectify the situation.

Today so many people long to be thin they are doing dangerous things to their bodies, they are literally dying to be thin. Many times these practices lead to what are now called eating disorders.

There are many things that people result to in order to achieve the perfect body, some of which include the use of laxatives to reduce their calorie intake. The only resulting weight loss is from loss of fecal matter and fluid, which will return within a day or two and the problem is that the body has already absorbed the calories. Once fluids return the user will feel that they need to use laxatives again.

Over use of laxatives is a dangerous habit that can leave the user unable to relieve themselves without them. Eventually abuse of laxatives can lead to permanent bowel damage and even death.

By sticking fingers sown their throat or chemically another often used process is throwing up, a person may force themselves to throw up manually. While Syrup of Ipecac is liked by people with this form of eating disorder, what they do not realize is that usual use of this medication is toxic. To immediately regurgitate everything in their stomach it causes the user.

This process is extremely hard on the body causing irritation of the esophagus, erosion of tooth enamel and complications from the chemicals. Ipecac syrup can cause erratic breathing, irregular heartbeat, and heart attack, all of these can be fatal complications.

People wishing to reduce weight quickly often resort to diet pills and diuretics. Diet pills may be manufactured to promote faster metabolism, quench appetite, or both, while the main purpose of diuretics is to get rid of bodily fluids. Despite the fact that several of these have the approval of the Food And Drug Adminstration (FDA), that does not make them a completely safe weight loss alternative.

Including pulmonary hypertension, dry mouth, and chest pains, prescription diet pills as well as some over the counter medications have been linked to serious health problems.

Never forget that you can lose weight, keep it off, and enjoy a vibrant and healthy life following safe weight loss methods.

Eat Chocolate And Lose Weight?

By Brian McCoy

It doesn't seem possible that the words chocolate and weight loss could be used in the same sentence. However, with a new product, it just might be possible.

Doctors and scientists alike have recently been touting the positive benefits that healthy, dark chocolate can have on your body. Although dark chocolate does have many healthful benefits, the vast majority of chocolate products that you find in stores is far from healthy. The reason is simple. These products are loaded with refined sugars, unhealthy fats, and artificial preservatives. None of these have the positive benefits that dark chocolate does for your health and well-being.

Traditional chocolate also losses much of its nutritional benefits as it is heated during manufacturing. This causes an 80% loss in antioxidant levels.

Thankfully, there is another option apart from the unhealthy, heat processed dark chocolates. A company named Xocai is a part of the MXI Corporation based in Reno, NV. Xocai has developed a line of products that is in its most natural, purest form of cacao. This is the result of the chocolate retaining its nutritional benefits during manufacturing. The cacao is cold pressed rather than heated. Therefore, the dark chocolate preserves its healthful benefits.

Xocai has 6 products available to consumers: X Powerhouse Cookie, X Power Squares, Omega Bars, Activ, Protein Bar, and Nuggets. The product line is made with unprocessed cacao powder and then acai berry and blueberry is included to enhance the taste. All of the products are chocked full of positive health benefits such as antioxidants, flavonoids, elevated ORAC values, high fiber, and low glycemic index. The product line is acceptable for vegetarians, vegans, and diabetics.

So what if anything does this have to do with weight loss? Well, a recent study from Japan found that consuming cocoa may combat weight gain. There are several mechanisms that are involved in this, including gene regulation and cocoa's potential mood elevating chemicals. These helpful chemicals may help people feel more energetic and want to exercise more, thus aiding in weight loss.

It's true that there are several biochemical responses taking place, but on top of that you are also consuming a healthier, more organic form of chocolate. For example, if you ingest a form of healthy dark chocolate instead of a Milky Way bar, what would you think that the difference would be? Not only is the healthy dark chocolate low in sugar, fat, and calories, but it is also high in fiber, antioxidants, ORAC value, and flavonoids. This is a stark contrast to the unhealthy Milky Way bar.

Thankfully, you don't have to give up great taste either. Xocai has gone out of its way to formulate a healthy dark chocolate line of products that tastes great. Testimonials are flooding the internet from people who have seen great results from the healthy chocolate. For this reason, I believe that it is worth your time to investigate the products and see what they could possibly do for you.

These are ways Vegetarians and Vegans Can Eat For Muscle Building

By Caleb Lee

My article earlier on eating clean sketches out simple nutrition guidelines for you. Nonetheless, I received an email from a vegetarian wanting some tips.

For sure, Protein is one of the highly vital "macro nutrients" you need to build muscle and to help you get well from your strength training. Majority of specialists recommend at least 1g per pound of bodyweight each day.

But most of the opinion for getting protein involves consuming stuff vegetarians and vegans can't - if that describes you, read this article for muscle building nutrition advice for vegetarians and vegans...

In What Manner Do Vegetarians & Vegans Eat?

Nearly everyone consume a lot of vegetables, legumes, fruits, tofu and soy. Several kinds eat eggs & dairy products too. But no animal flesh (meat, fish or poultry).

* Lacto-ovo Vegetarians. Eat eggs & dairy, but no animal flesh.

* Lacto Vegetarians. No eggs as well as animal flesh. Consumes dairy products such as milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, and cream.

* Ovo Vegetarians (or eggetarians). Eat eggs, but not animal flesh and dairy products.

* Vegans. Eat no eggs, no dairy, no animal flesh and no honey.

Teething Troubles You'll Come Across With Vegeterianism & Veganism.

Vegetables and fruits are great for vitamins, minerals and fiber. Green vegetables are also good since they boost your alkalinity levels and stabilize acidic foods like meat. Here's a few "problems" you'll run into eating like this though:

* Allergic reactions - if all you consume is dairy products and eggs you for protein, after that you can crash into lactose intolerance, acne, or other allergic reactions from all the dairy food

Low Testosterone - meats, eggs, and dairy products have saturated fat and cholesterol which boost testosterone. If your T levels are at a low level you'll have a smaller amount of muscle, less strength, less energy, lagging libido, higher body fat, and less of an "ambition"

Excellent Sources of Protein for Vegeterians & Vegans

If you're lacto and/or ovo it's easy. Just don't eat meat and follow my other eating clean rules to get your protein: eggs, milk, whey protein, cheese, etc. If you're vegan, there's some other sources of protein:

* Beans. Black, garbanzo, hummus, kidney, fava, winged, mungo, lima

* Legumes. Lentils, peas, cow peas, chick pea, snow peas

* Whole Grains. Oats, breads, brown rice, quinoa, granola ...

* Protein Powder. Hemp protein, soy protein, rice protein ...

* Milk. Soy milk, rice milk, plant milk, coconut milk, almond milk ...

* Soy. Soy cheese, deli-style soy meats, soy milk, soy beans, tofu ...

* Nuts. Peanut butter, peanuts, cashew, pistachio, almonds, walnuts ...

* Seeds. Flax, hemp, pumpkin, sesame ...

Six Pack Ab Models - How Do They Do It?

By Gerard Lanzona

We've seen them gracing the covers of countless fitness and lifestyle mags. They're also on the daytime infomercials oh so familiar with couch potatoes everywhere. Some have even made it to the silver screen, playing unstoppable Greek warriors fighting ancient Persian armies against all odds. I'm talking about those super-fit models with lean, shredded abs- the lucky few envied by scores of frustrated gym goers and wannabe Spartans everywhere.

Getting Achilles-style abs or a tummy like Tyson Beckford's and 50 cent's has long been a fantasy for many- an unreachable dream that a lot of frustrated gym goers have given-up on. Most people pass it off to good genes or a grueling workout regimen. Fact is, anybody can get ripped abs. It just takes a basic knowledge of physiology, a proper exercise regimen and eating smart. Equal parts of these three comprise the recipe for ripped abs.

The fitness ab models with those glorious six-packs didn't get them by slacking-off and logging-extended hours on the boob tube of course, but their workouts aren't as grueling as most folks yearning for a shredded midsection think. A combination of cardio and muscle building exercises that target and keep-off body fat as source for energy will do the trick.

Total body exercises that keep the heart rate at 60-70% of the maximum are the most effective for burning belly fat- experts have discovered. These burn the most calories from body fat rather than from carbs and glycogen (needed for muscle building).

Building muscle also increases a person's metabolism, meaning more calories burned even while inactive. The more muscles we pack on, the less calories we have to burn through exercise. Having a body like King Diomedes then, will let us expend calories even while off in dreamland fighting epic battles.

The third ingredient six pack ab models have in their recipe for a cut rectus abdominus is a relatively low-fat diet and healthy eating habits. Lots of fruits (citrus ones actually render body fat easier to burn) and keeping our body form starving does wonders in controlling belly fat.

Most people have the notion that the less food you put into your system, the less fat you become. Skipping meals? No, this is not what six pack ab models do it. The human body actually loses less fat when it's starving. It's an evolutionary thing from our caveman days. Our bodies try to preserve stored fat by slowing down our metabolism and getting energy from other sources like glycogen and, gasp! Even muscle tissue.

Contrary to what the 'unlearned' masses think then, six-pack ab models don't really make that many sacrifices. It's just knowing about which exercises and eating practices are effective in keeping the body's metabolism at the optimum belly-fat burning rate.

Lunges, as there are various types of them, you need to find one that suits you the best. The most basic lunge is the drop knee version, which is also one of the most difficult ones. You can use hand weights in this exercise if you feel you need more intensity.

Step-ups do work on the gluteus and hamstrings, although most of us are unsure on whether these exercises work. But for this exercise to work effectively, you need to make sure that you are stepping on a platform that is high enough, preferably 15 inches to activate the muscle fibers. To add intensity to the exercise, you can hold dumbbells.

Both the gluteus medius and gluteus maximus are used when doing a squat which makes it a good exercise. Squats are also good for the hips and the thighs. If you need back support you can use of a ball that can help you get the perfect position without it hurting your knees.

Multi-hip extensions are good for targetting the gluteus maximus and medius and the hamstrings. The machine can be tricky so it should be used used with professional help to get the necessary adjustments.

One legged squats help activate the gluteus maximus and medius. Similar to lunges, there are several ways in which you can perform one-legged squats. So go for one that you can tolerate if not like. If you need more intensity, choose a version that gives a higher range of motion and is more challenging.

If you use the exercises that we mentioned and recommend, you will find that you can start slimming yourself down and targeting specific areas that will get you noticed. Remember that you need to start slow and increase the intensity with time, plan an exercise routine while keeping in mind your fitness goals and capabilities. If you want a sexier and rounder butt in no time you need to word out every day for about a half an hour.

When trying to tone your body and loose weight, exercise is not all there is to it. You also need to eat correctly and maintain workouts, combining these 2 things will help you be more successful. Reasons Why You Are Not Losing Weight

By Ricardo d Argence

The diet industry shows that millions of people tried to lose weight everyday but have failed. You know they are failing by the sheer number of new products that comes on to the market every day. Here we will look at a few reasons why diets fail.

The most popular diets are ones that air at eliminating an entire group of foods from your diet. No, fat diets, diets with no carbs and some diets with no food at all! It's not a surprise why people cannot lose weight.

In order for our multifaceted bodies to properly operate, numerous nutrients are needed. Usually your body will react negatively when a food group is eliminated and weight loss will not occur.

Starvation diets are even less favorable as you will deprive yourself of necessary nutrients and find yourself losing little if any weight. That is because your body will go into what is known as starvation mode. Your body slows down its metabolism in order to store fat because it believes there is a food shortage and it wants to protect itself. This is to prevent you from dying under extreme circumstances. Its very risky in terms of your health but little by little your system will be able to overcome it.

Effective weight loss requires developing and staying with a healthful, balanced eating plan on a daily basis. This means that you must partake of all the food groups. You can limit calories and still get nutrients by consuming smaller portion sizes, this is a better approach.

Fad diets claimed to be very effective by a lot of people in terms of losing weight with no need efforts to do exercise. The previous statement is obviously untrue, you must expend more than you consume. Exercise is required in order to do this and still consume proper amounts of nutrients. Exercise is considered to be anything that increases heart rate and oxygen intake. Our bodies were not made to be sedentary they need movement.

The most effective weight loss tool is closer than you think. Your body is composed of mostly water, about 61.8%. It goes without saying that water intake plays a major role in optimizing all body functions. The standard recommendation of 64 ounces of water per day will not apply on days in which you indulge in strenuous physical activity or sweat profusely, when it would be advisable to increase your fluid consumption.

To create a healthy weight loss program you should bring all the elements above together. Eat properly, exercise regularly and drink plenty of water and you have the best weight loss plan on the planet.
