Don't Expect to Stay With Your Current Weight Loss Plan

By Erin Upshaw

Many people are very similar to you. They are tired of constantly trying new exercises and diets that just will never work. Your motivated at first, but as time progresses you become tired of it, and you feel as if you have failed again.

Does the above description sound like you? Are you angry and frustrated about why your diet programs are not working? Just like you, many others feel the same way. There are countless reasons explaining why diets fail and this article will cover the most important.

Your weight loss program failed because it was bogus. Extreme diets will burn you out, making it hard to maintain consistency. Exercises using absurd movements and consuming limited types of foods is not sustainable in the long haul. You have to choose an exercise and diet program that you will enjoy doing in the short term and for the long term in order to drop that weight for good.

A lack of support from family and friends causes many to quit their diets. Maybe your family and friends didn't provide the support you needed in order to say no to that bite of rich dessert. It could be possible that your friends had no faith in you or your diet. A fact of life is the fact that support is critical when focusing on weight loss. Try joining a weight loss group with others that are in the same situation, or consider hiring a personal trainer that will keep you motivated towards your goals.

A third reason could be that you were dieting without exercise, or exercising without eating right. You didn't see results, and so you quit. The two need to go hand in hand for a sensible workout program that is actually going to help you drop pounds. Any plan you choose must include both diet and exercise.

Another reason was that you expected results far too quickly. Diets take time to work, and your body may take even more time to adjust to your new diet before weight loss is noticed. Your body is resistant and will require you to use diet and exercise to steer it to shed pounds. Stick to a well designed program, and the results you want will be achieved.

Finally, you may not have achieved weight loss because of a lack of commitment. You have to start your plan without any doubts. You must be fully committed. Otherwise, you'll find ways to cheat your diet and cheat yourself. The moment you think your diet is failing you off you go. Failure is not an option; stick to your guns and finish the fight! Forgive yourself for any past attempts that did not work out. Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

Most people advertise all kinds pf secrets to weight loss, but the secret never really was a secret. It's the one truth that we all know: a lifestyle with a healthy diet and exercise are what will help us all lose weight and stay in shape. There are no secret tricks or shortcuts to becoming healthy. You've just read the trick for yourself. You will not find a "fat buster" cure besides a healthy diet and exercise. Do your research, pick a workout plan that you will enjoy, and stay with it. Remember to aim for realistic and achievable goals and you will be sure to shed those unwanted pounds.

The ONLY thing that has worked for me for more than a few months or a year has been running. I have kept weight off for 5 years. And I have not suffered or deprived myself of food I love.
